A BLIND author will be speaking about the inspiration behind her Harwich-based books at a special event tomorrow.
June Bretherton, 72, has set several of her books in the town after holidaying here as a child.
She was born partially sighted and became totally blind almost 30 years ago.
June only started writing after she moved to Harwich with her partner David in 2009.
“I have always wanted to write, but until I moved to Harwich my energies had always been used to prepare and report upon work-related things, leaving me too drained to be creative in fiction,” she said.
The meet-the-author event will be held at the Swan House Gallery, in King’s Head Street, Harwich, tomorrow.
The event takes place from 7pm to 9pm. There will also be light refreshments and the opportunity to ask questions.
