A COUNCIL is calling on a town centre bank described as “invaluable” to remain open.
HSBC in Dovercourt High Street is set to close on Friday.
This will force customers to travel to Clacton or Colchester to access the same services.
Now Harwich Town Council will write to HSBC as a matter of urgency to try to sway the decision.
At a meeting of the council on Wednesday, mayor Alan Todd said: “It is another nail in the coffin for our town.”
