A CHARITY’S plans to build a state-of-the-art £1.5million assisted living complex has been given the green light.
Acorn Village, a cluster of homes for adults with learning disabilities, has been given permission by Tendring Council to build an eight-bedroom single-storey facility for residents who need extra care.
The idea is for the new complex to replace the current Jubilee House for more elderly residents, those who need palliative care or those who have limited mobility.
The facility will include space for carers and shared lounge, kitchen and dining rooms, and would see it built in the garden area of the house, named Mistley Wood.
