SUPERMARKET giant Tesco’s decision to pull out of its planned store build in Manningtree has left the future of an eyesore site and plans for village upgrades hanging in the balance.
We asked you what you thought about Tesco axing its plans for the store.
Barbara Addis, who runs Paws in Manningtree, said: “I think it would have made it [the site] look a lot nicer.
“We have got lots of lovely little shops and we don’t want them being damage but it is an eyesore in the town.
“I am not shocked [they have pulled out]. I would have thought it would have had an impact on all of us.”
Beryl Price, 83, of Quayside Court, said: “I am not really surprised. It would have improved the roads but I don’t know if it would have made a difference to shopping.
“Some people who have used the Co-op have used it for years but at Tesco you have so much more choice."
