COMMUTERS leaving their cars outside homes in Lawford are being urged to be considerate parkers.

Lesley Pallett, chairman of the Lawford Parish Council highways committee, said drivers parking in the village to avoid fees at Manningtree Railway Station car park were blocking driveways and angering residents.

“Lawford is being the unpaid overflow car park of the station,” she said.

"If you have to park outside our houses, can you park with consideration to the residents.

“It’s in the Highway Code not to park at a junction.

"We are fed up with it, they are there ten to 12 hours.

“I understand why people are doing it, but they should have some consideration.”

The council agreed to request from Tendring Council that Inconsiderate Parking Initiative tickets be placed on problem vehicles.
