STUDENTS became crime scene investigators for a day thanks to a visit from a lecturer in forensic science.

Year Ten triple science pupils from Manningtree High School swept for evidence and recorded their findings at a mock crime scene set up by Harry Smy from the City of Westminster College, who is also a former student at the school.

Each participant donned a white investigator suit with a hood, face mask, gloves and shoe covers to stop contamination and solved the whodunit by the end of the day.

Head of science John Knights said: “After the all day session, several of our students have been inspired to look a career in forensics.”
