A TRAVELLING troubadour whose latest album has been getting rave reviews is set to perform in Manningtree.

Sean Taylor will be performing tracks from Chase The Night and testing new material at The Red Lion on Saturday and is looking forward to returning after first gigging there three years ago.

“It is a lovely part of the world and it has a good music scene for such a small place. There are lots of good bands in the area,” he said.

“I travel everywhere on the train a lot of my songs come from watching people and seeing things when I am waiting at the station or on the way to somewhere.

“If you take time to listen to people there is always something there.

“Everyone and everything has a story so it is just finding it. I always carry a notepad just in case something comes into my mind.”

Sean lists poets Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac and singer John Martyn has influences on his bluesy sounds but is adamant he wants to be known as his own man.

“You take things from stuff you hear of course, but it is the songs that are the key to everything."
