ANGRY residents fear drivers are flouting a newly installed 30mph speed limit on a dangerous stretch of road.
Essex County Council reduced the 60mph limit to 30mph for 280 metres near the top of the Cox’s Hill after a year three battle for action.
However they claim drivers are ignoring the new restrictions and continuing to drive at 60mph.
Hans Bogaardt and his fiancé use the road to walk to Manningtree railway station.
He said: “People are not just going at 40mph or 50mph they are driving at 70mph frequently – it is just insane."
