Festival-goers are getting ready to party in memory of a much loved Braintree man.

The Big Bear Fest is expected to attract hundreds of people when it is held at the Cherry Tree Inn at Belchamp St Paul on September 1.

Headlining the event will be, tribute bands the Antarctic Moneys and Oasis Forever along with local bands, The Jellycats, Intuition and The AMs.

Up and coming Colchester band, The Natives have also made the set.

The event is being held in memorial of former Alec Hunter Humanities College pupil, Sam Bearman who died of meningitis on January 6 last year.

Sam’s stepdad, Lee Barrett, said: “We have tried to put together a line up that reflects Sam’s tastes.

“He loved all genres of music but Indie was his favourite.”
