Food bank helps families in crisis
More than 100 people have sought help from an emergency food bank.
The Braintree food bank opened in April to help families and individuals in crisis.
Administrator Vivian Salter said: “Of course it’s not a cause for celebration that so many people find themselves unable to put food on the table for themselves and their families.
“We’d much rather it wasn’t necessary.
“But the fact that we have fed so many people in the short time we have been open shows that there is a real need in the Braintree district, despite its apparent affluence.”
