An emotional wartime drama focussing on the lives of one East Anglian family is touring the region this spring.
Private Resistance is a play that asks what might have happened if Britain had been forced to cope with an enemy invasion.
It is summer 1940, and the ongoing conflict with Germany has thrown Diane Bowles’ life into turmoil.
While her husband is trapped in a POW camp, Diane’s brother-in-law is hatching an ambition plan to build a secret underground bunker.
The play promises to grip its audiences as the five villagers at the centre of events find themselves dealing with events and emotions they never thought they would have to face.
Private Resistance tours on over 50 dates between February and May, including Haverhill Arts Centre (Feb 29, 8pm), Witham Public Hall (Mar 10, 7.30pm) and Sudbury Quay Theatre (Mar 22, 7.30pm).
