Landlords in Halstead are insisting that the future is bright despite fears from national campaigners about pub closures.
The Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) are concerned about new figures showing that 16 pubs close down across Britain each week.
Of that figure, eight suburban pubs close each week, compared to six rural and two high street pubs.
CAMRA are calling on the Government to offer more support to enterprising licensees.
But Wayne Evans, manager of the Royal Oak in Halstead High Street, insists that business is booming.
