A HOUSING developer which wants to build 69 houses on an industrial site is appealing against Braintree Council’s planning refusal.
Barratt Homes applied for permission to build homes and business units on the Central Park site in Colchester Road, Halstead, last year.
But some residents feared a negative impact on traffic and wildlife, and Braintree Council refused the plan, saying it did not fit with it being a designated employment area.
Neighbours behind the eight complaint letters were concerned about increased traffic, a damaged sewer, boundary hedges being threatened and wildlife which lives in the area.
