A POPULAR Christmas panto is coming back to Sudbury with a bang.
Sudbury Dramatic Society has announced that this year’s Quay Theatre pantomime will be Aladdin.
The pantomime tells the tale of a genie in a lamp, with this version written by Braintree author Andy Gribben.
The play will be directed by Helen and Neil Arbon of the Sudbury Dramatic Society, all of whom have been rehearsing since last year for the family-friendly show.
The show contains a mix of heroes, villains, genies, custard pies, a magic lamp and the laundry.
Quay Theatre publicity officer Linda Dowdall said: “Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit to the SDS pantomime at the Quay Theatre.
“The tale has everything you could wish for in a traditional family feast of fun and adventure.
“It is great to go to a pantomime at Christmas, it is part of it.
“There is plenty of chance for the usual amount of booing, hissing, clapping and cheering.” Aladdin starts at the Quay Theatre, Sudbury, on Friday, December 15 at 7.30pm and runs until New Year’s Day at 3pm over various dates and times including evening and matinee performances.
