Thousands of dog lovers descended onto the showground of a Georgian mansion for the county’s annual Dog Day.
Crix, in Hatfield Peverel, played host to Essex Dog Day on Sunday and was packed with dogs of a variety of breeds and ages.
Competitions ran all day in the two main show rings as hundreds of pooches were judged on their pedigree, looks and cool moves.
In the Children’s Arena, prizes went to the scruffiest mutt, dog with the waggiest tail, and the most loveable puppy.
This year’s Best in Show was retired racing greyhound Jet, who also won Best Pedigree Bitch.
Ian Twinley, owner of Crix and chairman of the organising committee, said: “Everyone had fun in the sun, it was a barking good day.
“And the best thing is that every year we break all records with even more money going to deserving Essex charities through The Essex Community Foundation.”
