A LITTLE boy from Earls Colne will undergo a life changing operation next month after the community came together to raise £31,000.

Lenny Pyne has cerebal palsy and needs to undergo the operation at Portland Hospital, in London, so that he is able to put his feet flat on the ground.

He currently has to walk on the tips of his toes.

Now the Hair and Beauty Studio in Jeffreys Road, Cressing, has handed over a cheque for £3,500 to Lenny’s family to help bring them up to their total.

Staff at the salon have held a quiz, organised a Christmas hamper and kept a donation pot on their reception desk.

Earls Colne Primary School pupil Lenny will undergo the operation on January 9.

Mum Sarah Hume said: “I can’t thank Stephanie and the girls enough for all their help.

“We have also had two big donations from companies in London and the school helped raise £9,500 as well.

“We have pretty much got all the money for the operation and the physiotherapy afterwards.

“It is amazing to know everyone has been behind us – I am just total overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity.”

Friends and family have also been helping to prepare Lenny for his operation.

Sarah added: “He is quite excited about it now but he was a little nervous about the pulse oximeter [which measures oxygen saturation].

“This is a life changing operation for Lenny.”
