A Halstead woman has spoken of her “frustration” after a Christmas decoration was stolen from her front door.
Vicci Cole, 46, made the gold wreath nine years ago and has proudly hung it on the front door of her house, in Manors Green, every year.
However, on Sunday, she noticed the gold star, decorated with lights, pine cones and gold poinsettia, had been taken between midnight 7.30pm and midnight.
The retail worker and massage therapist said: “I was taking the bins out and I saw that it had gone.
“It’s just frustrating that people think they can do that.
“I don’t know if it was kids or adults or just someone who saw it and decided to take it.
“It’s the fact that someone has walked up my path and taken it away.
“A neighbour had hers taken a little while ago and a lady in nearby Ramsey Road, Halstead, had her Christmas lights taken too.
“There’s a lot of it going on at the moment.
“I thought it would be nice to get in the Christmas spirit and put it out, but I don’t think I will put another one out this year.
“I’m not really a creative person but I made it myself and was really proud of it.
“I want to warn people to be vigilant.”
