The timings for the Christmas Fayre on Saturday have been released.

All day, there will be colouring activities and free mince pies from Head Street Gallery and a Turbo Trainer Challenge in Lobbs Cycles, plus face painting, the Advent Calender Trail, Christmas cocktails and fun activities in Scenarios, and children can write letters to Santa in Halstead library.

From 9am until 1pm, a Grand Christmas Bazaar is being held in St Andrew's Church Hall.

From 10am until noon, the United Reformed Church has a bring and buy sale.

Santa will be in his grotto outside EACH from 10am until 3pm.

The Factory Shop, Heritage Museum, Halstead Day Centre and Premier Travel all have activities between 10am and 4pm.

Events in Weaver’s Court include The Churches Together Choir from 10.30am until 11.30am, The Elizabeth School of Dancing at 2pm and Abigail’s Performing Arts at 3pm.

History tours from the Heritage Museum will take place at 10.30am and 2pm.

You can make your own gingerbread man in Holmes and Hills from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

Halstead Flower Club have a wreath making demonstration at 11am.

Icing demonstrations will run between 11am and 3pm in Halstead Icing - places must be booked in advance.

From midday, panto characters will be around the town and Halstead Dental Care is holding a poster competition from 12 noon until 2pm.

All the Halstead primary schools and Ramsey Academy will be performing outside the former post office throughout the day.

D.Fine Hair and Beauty is offering free file and paint sessions from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.

From 10am until 4pm, there will be craft stalls in Queen's Hall, raising money for the Empire Cinema fund.

The Melford Silver Band will be in the high street from 2.30pm until 4pm.

The lights will be switched on at 4.30pm, followed by a meet and greet in Holy Trinity Church.
