Residents are calling for action over anti-social behaviour at a park.

A group of youths has been hanging around the park off Ramsey Road, Halstead, and neighbours have complained about their lack of consideration for anyone living nearby.

Lucy Hoskin, 28, of Juniper Close, said: “I used to take my little boy up after school but the last six months we have been going to the Kings Road park.

“The children’s park up here is disgusting.

“The rubber mats have all come up, there is broken glass, cans, rubbish and the older kids now hang out till all hours over the weekend there, drunk and lighting fires with no consideration for anyone who lives near.

“It’s horrid.

“Unfortunately it's the same group of kids.

“Every time the police come up they all run off.

“The swearing is awful - they have no respect for anyone else sadly.

“The police have been up there a few times.

“Some residents now want to move.

“Some of us have had our fencing damaged and rubbish thrown in our gardens.

“I have an alley at the back of mine which was set alight.

“Thankfully we were able to put it out.

“There used to be lots of kids go up to the park that no longer go.

“This new group of kids just doesn't seem to understand that there are people with babies, children, old people and some with illnesses.

“It would be nice just to have a little consideration.”
