Get involved in a new project to see where the water goes in Halstead.
The Where does the water go? project aims to identify critical watercourses and their landowners as well as educate the community about their responsibilities in looking after the river and river banks.
This information will assist with the understanding of your local drainage system as well as increase community engagement and where necessary Essex Fire and Rescue can assist with their volunteer watercourse clearance programme.
Volunteers are being sought to help with a survey, which included collecting information about the location, condition and dimension of watercourses.
The project will run from September to April, at this time watercourses are more visible due to vegetation die back and an increase in water.
Halstead has been chosen as one of ten parishes to take part in the project.
