HOMES are without power this evening as Storm Barney sweeps across north Essex.
UK Power Networks has reported power cuts across the county, including Tiptree, Marks Tey and Lawford.
In some homes, power will not be restored until the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Essex Fire Service has been called to storm related incidents in Colchester and Tiptree.
The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning for the area, which runs until Thursday.

UPDATE
Train lines between Colchester and Manningtree are blocked because of debris caught on the overhead electric wires.
Services have been cancelled, and disruption will last until the end of the day.
Officers from Network Rail are on their way to the location to remove the obstruction.

Earlier this evening Essex Weather Centre confirmed the strongest gust of wind as of 9pm today was 58.4mph at Andrewsfieldd, near Braintree.

Firefighters have been called to more than 25 storm-related incidents across Essex this evening.
A spokesman said: “Firefighters are attending incidents where there is life risk, for example incidents involving trees down in the road where the road is unlit or it is in a dangerous position (on a bend).
“Firefighters have attended over 25 incidents of trees down in roadways which have caused life risk.”
In Colchester, firefighters were called to East Hill at 10.30pm following reports of a large sign which was in a dangerous position. They cordoned off the area and made it safe before leaving just before 11pm.
Two crews from Clacton went too Oakmead Road, St Oysth, to deal with a tree which had fallen and caused an electricity pole to fall on a car.
Firefighters tapped off the area and waited for the electricity board to arrive. They left at 10.47pm, and police officers took over.
