Radio presenters visited locations in and around Halstead as part of a treasure hunt.

BBC Radio’s Essex Quest presenters Mike Kelly and Liana Bridges had to solve cryptic clues to identify three mystery location in Essex.

This week’s clues led them to Halstead Antiques Centre, the Colne Valley Railway in Castle Hedingham, and Stumer Nurseries on Sunday.

The final poem was: “Mix ingredients together (Stir), observe the night sky (astrono-mer) and leave your children at more than one of these whilst at work (nurseries).”

Sturmer Nurseries’ owner Robert Mason said: “It was great fun.

“At one stage I thought they would not get to us in time as they were bogged down on the first clue.

“They were also a bit confused as they thought we might be in Suffolk, but we are actually a couple of hundred yards inside Essex.”
