A village’s shop is closing for six weeks for refurbishment.
The East of England Co-op food store on Swan Street, Sible Hedingham, will temporarily close from 10pm on September 5, whilst refurbishment work takes place.
The £530,000 investment will see an improved layout, a brighter more welcoming atmosphere and a wider range of local produce.
The new greener store will also feature energy saving lighting and more energy efficient refrigeration.
Customers will still be able to pop and pick up their usual Co-op supplies, as well as access to Paypoint services, from the East of England Co-op Supermarket at Weavers Court, Halstead.
The new look store will reopen on October 16 at 9am.
Rumours have been circulating that the store was closing for good, but this has been dispelled by a spokesman for the store.
