Secondary schools in the district are celebrating excellent GCSE results.

At The Ramsey Academy 65 per cent of pupils achieved five A* to C passes, with 48 per cent achieving five A* to C including English and Maths.

Those with impressive results include Duncan Burns who got two A*s five As and one B, Lucie Sharpe who got one A*, five As and two Bs and Megan Rawlinson with her seven As and three Bs.

Headteacher, Rob James, said: “Congratulations to all the students for their results.

“The hard work and time they have devoted to their studies must be commended.

“Good luck and best wishes for the future as you progress on to the next stage of your education or training.”

Hedingham School was delighted that 63 per cent of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including Maths and English.

Additionally, 99 per cent of students attaining five or more A* to G passes.

Lorna Wright gained six A*s and three A grades, Dylan Thomas received five A*s and four As , Isabel Page achieved three A*s, five As and a Btech distinction.

Other notable performances include: John-Henry Love with four A*s and five As, Mitchell Clark and Nathan Fuff achieved five A*s, three As and one B, Joshua Aldridge gained five A*s, one A and two Bs.

Arlen Crawley-Smart and Laura Smith also performed exceptionally well recording a combination of A*s and As.

Headteacher John Panayi said: “I am very pleased with the GCSE results gained by our students and wish to congratulate them for their commitment and hard work to attain their good examination outcomes.

“A record number of students in this cohort exceeded target grade and a special mention must go to Science who achieved outstanding results.”
