Youngsters need to learn to respect the green space before being given a new skate park, residents have argued.
Several people have complained about the amount of rubbish being left at the skate park in Ramsey Road, Halstead.
There are plans for new ramps and equipment to be built in the park, as long as the money needed - expected to be up to £150,00 - can be raised to carry out the work.
Julie Ayres, who lives near the park, said: “I went for a walk around the skate park on Tuesday **21** and the kids have left rubbish in between two perfectly placed bins.
“I'm 100 per cent behind anything which improves our children's life styles, but some of them need to respect the areas they are given too.
“It's a shame for those that already do.”
