The Chappel and Wakes Colne Fete had its best ever year - taking a staggering £6,500.
About 500 people turned out to the annual show, held on Saturday at the green near the viaduct.
The Aldham Dog Obedience Group showed the crowds tips on training your dog and had some very well behaved dogs and owners doing displays.
Daniel Ribbits and The Rock Choir could be heard across the Colne Valley due to the acoustics under the viaduct and the crowds enjoyed dancing on the field.
Visitors were lucky to have a fly past from the Essex Air Ambulance, which then led into the Ladies Red Barrow display team’s routine.
The ladies danced with wheelbarrows to the music of Glenn Miller and the Andrew Sisters, raising £358 for the Essex Air Ambulance along with The Rock Choir.
There were also races, welly wanging, tug of war competitions and the now traditional egg throwing competition compered by Hospital Radio Colchester.
In total, £6,500 was taken across the event, including from the stalls run by local businesses, charities and clubs.
Chappel Primary School, which hosted the event, took £2,000 from the event.
