A keen marathon runner is back in action after an injury forced him to stop for 18 months.

Terry Rivers, 69, has run 78 marathons - including 19 Halstead marathons and 21 London marathons.

He has raised about £30,000 for St Helena Hospice over the past 15 years.

The retired brick layer injured his achilles heel last year and was laid up for 18 months - missing out on two London marathons and last year’s Halstead marathon.

However Terry, who has five grandchildren, has fought back and completed one lap of the Halstead marathon on Sunday.
