Halstead’s May Queen is delighted to have been selected.
Ramsey Academy pupil Annie Barter, 15, was chosen from the other hopefuls to be crowned queen.
She will oversee the celebrations in Halstead’s Public Gardens on Monday.
The event will start at 2pm and see the arrival of the May Queen in a 1972 purple camper van.
Annie said: “I was quite surprised."
**Everyone is welcome to attend the town’s first May Day celebrations on Monday.
There will be maypole dancing, stands and stalls from local organisations, a nursery rhyme fancy dress competition for children and much more.
Entrance is free.
