Owners of an Indian restaurant face a £100,000 fine for employing five illegal immigrants.
Immigration enforcement officers raided Curry Cottage, in Head Street, Halstead, on Saturday night and found five Bangladeshi men, who were living illegally in the UK.
The firm could be fined up to £20,000 for each illegal worker unless the owners can demonstrate appropriate pre-employment checks were carried out, such as seeing a passport or Home Office document.
Curry Cottage will stay open.
