More than 110 youngsters joined in a fun Easter egg hunt around the town.

Youngsters collected an entry form from the town council’s office and they had to go to the 50 shops listed, putting the correct number displayed in the shop’s window next to the shop’s name on their form.

Everyone who took part during the school Easter holidays, got sweets and a certificate signed by the mayor, David Hume.

At the council’s meeting on April 16, three names were drawn to win special prizes.

Jasper Kirtland, four, who attends Little Angels Pre-School, won first prize of a large wicker hamper filled with chocolate eggs.

Five-year-old St Andrews Primary School pupil Jasmine McPherson came second and received a slightly smaller selection of various chocolate eggs and third was Emily Rippey, seven, who attends Richard de Clare Primary School, who also won a selection of chocolate eggs.
