A Halstead resident who has used a wheelchair for more than 30 years is asking people to think twice before they park their cars.
Norma Huxter, 66, who has spinal difficulties that make it painful for her to walk, said that people blocking dropped kerbs with their cars can cause problems for wheelchair users.
Mrs Huxter, who lives with husband David, 68, in Johnston Close, Halstead, said: “People sometimes don’t think.
“When you are in wheelchair, it is the only way you can get down so you can cross the road.
“If it is blocked, you have to go out of your way to then be able to get across.
“There was one van driver who kept parking in front of a dropped kerb so you couldn’t go down it."
