Money raised to help Magical Millie is being passed on to support other sick children.

The family and friends of six-year-old Millie Brown, who fought an inoperable brain tumour for two years before she died in October, raised more than £25,000 for her.

Most of the money was spent on special trips to take Millie to Disneyland and to see One Direction in concert, amongst other special trips and treats for her.

Millie’s family have announced they will be giving £2,500 to Colchester Hospitals Charity Children's Ward and £2,500 to Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust Children's Ward in her memory.

They have also bought a pirate galleon outdoor playhouse for The Park Preschool in Halstead, where their daughter attended.

The playhouse will be built soon and the family hope the children will get a lot of enjoyment from it, as Millie would have loved playing with it.

The Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Elsa costumes, which were bought for surprising Millie on her birthday and various home visits, will continue to be used for children's charity days and visits to children's hospitals every year.

Her mother Lisa Stock, of Ronald Road, in Halstead, said: “Both the hospital charities have both been involved in Millie’s care and have been marvellous.

“We couldn’t have wished for better people to support us.”
