Four musicians who met by chance are now planning the release of their first music video.
Chris MacKinnon, 19, of Great Yeldham, met singer Lee Carter, 21, of Halstead, bassist Stephen Ellis, 19, and rhythm guitarist Wesley Stubbings, 19, both of Witham, during a meeting of Braintree Sound Academy.
After being “thrown” into the same group during the session, the musicians found they got on well together.
They went on to form band Drop Dead Fred.
Drummer Chris, a former Hedingham School pupil, said: “I started playing the piano when I was eight.
“We had an awful, old, out-of-tune keyboard at home and I used to play about on that.
“I started having lessons and then moved onto drums when I went to secondary school.
“Music is just my thing.”
