Schoolchildren have been so impressed by their new building that they have written to the principal and builders to say thanks.

Nursery, pre-preparatory and preparatory pupils at Gosfield School have moved into the new £1.2million, called Meadow Court, which was paid for through its development fund and bank finance.

The new building on the school’s site in Halstead Road, Gosfield, include interactive white boards and a covered play area.

The pathway leading to the building features bricks bearing the name of every pupil.

Letters of thanks from the pupils have been handed to headteacher Sarah Welch, who has forwarded them on to the builders.

She said: “It was a lovely surprise to receive the letters from the pupils and I have given copies to the builders as a thank you for their hard work. All the children are thrilled with the new building, Meadow Court.”

Nine-year-old Zac Mathews reserved particular praise for the toilets.

He wrote: “Thank you for letting us move in to the new building. I like the smartboard because it goes up and down and the toilets are fabulous.”
