An outdoor gym in Sible Hedingham could be built if villagers give it their stamp of approval.
Sible Hedingham Parish Council has discussed installing gym equipment, worth up to £21,000, on the village’s recreation ground.
It will only start applying for a grant if local residents want it.
Chairman Gill Massey said: “It is part of plans to help keep people fit and healthy and it brings the use of the recreation ground to a wider age range and demographic.
“At the moment we are checking demand and seeing what people’s views are.
“However we are having problems evaluating whether other schemes are successful, we really don’t know."
