A widow who walked 450 miles in six weeks will be giving a talk about her adventure.

Sara Knight walked The Camino de Santiago de Compostela to the shrine of the apostle St James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried.

She walked the route to Lyon, then went north along the coast and to Santander in Spain.

“I had never done anything like it before,” said Sara, of Church Street, Great Maplestead.

“The most I had ever walked was on a weekend away when I did 20 miles over the whole weekend.

“My husband died in 2011 and everybody said the Camino is a very healing process.

“It is a very ancient pilgrimage route.”

Sara will be giving a talk about her trip and answering questions on Sunday at The Quay Theatre, Sudbury, from 3pm to 4pm.

Afterwards, there will be a chance to try churros, a fried-dough pastry popular in Spain and France, chocolate, coffee and cake.

Tickets £10 (Friends of the Quay, £9) in aid of the theatre's refurbishment fund.
