A post office could move to a village shop.
The Earls Colne branch could relocate from its current premises in the High Street to Fork Andles DIY and gardening store, 300 metres up the road.
The Post Office said the current postmaster hopes to retire if a suitable new location can be found.
If the move goes ahead, branch opening hours would increase by 23 hours a week.
It would be open Monday to Saturday from 8am to 6.30pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Customers have until December 2 to have their say before a final decision is made.
