A REVIEW into how some buses are funded by Essex County Council is to be published later this year.
The Review of the Local Bus Strategy was launched last year by county hall.
It is part of the council’s drive to save money.
The council supplements costs for about 40 bus services in Colchester.
An Essex County Council spokesman said: “Having taken into account the responses from the first consultation, the council is looking at what approaches might best support its residents and businesses by growing the bus network and increasing the number of people who use it, while still delivering good value for taxpayers.
“At present we intend to set out a strategy later this year.”
Critics of the review say it has been delayed, and should have been published before the summer.
But Essex County Council says it is on track.
