A local brewery is hopping with delight after its ale was given two awards.
Nethergate Brewery, based in Pentlow, won the category of best better at the Society of Independent Brewers competition with their Suffolk County bitter.
The brewery also won silver in the overall champion category at the competition, which pitted them against other breweries from the East of England.
Dick Burge, who co-founded Nethergate Brewery in 1986, said: “We have always tried to make great beers and I am proud that our quality has been recognised by our peers in this way.
“It’s always good to win, but particularly after a challenging transitional period in our business and it’s a credit to our excellent brewing team that we still make the best bitter in the area.”
