Owners of a community bus are hoping to extend their route to include Halstead’s hospital.

Bus company Turners of Essex, which runs the Halstead Hoppa bus, have been in talks with the hospital to add the stop on their route to make it easier for patients to visit.

The firm have applied to include the new stop and are waiting to get the go-ahead from the transport commission.

It is hoped that the new stop will be included in the route by November.

Owner Louise Golding said: “We were asked by the hospital itself.

“We had a letter from them because there are a lot of senior citizens in the town, who can find it difficult to get to the hospital without a car or a bus."
