A crackdown on trouble-makers in Castle Park is to take place this weekend.
Officers are planning a special operation to tackle problems, and there will be more officers on patrol.
The heightened police presence comes after a number of incidents last weekend.

Large groups gathered in the park to enjoy the hot weather, many bringing alcohol.
There were various incidents of antisocial behaviour throughout the day and into the evening, with trouble flaring at shortly after 6pm near to the boating lake, and officers were urgently called to the scene.
The actions of the minority in the castle park last weekend personified Anti Social Behaviour.
I made a call to the police who I hasten to add attended very quickly indeed and in reasonable numbers.
The majority of people there seemed to be good kids but there were clearly an element of scum that cant hold their drink and have no idea how to behave in public. I watched one youth in particular harrass a family with young children as they innocently walked through the park minding their own business.
When the police did arrive they were subjected to abuse and violence and many of these "chavs" could and should have spent a night in the cells.
I have no problem with people enjoying themselves as many people were in that park but the minority who then decide to effect the enjoyment of innocent bystanders spoil it for the rest.
I am all for the crackdown but I hope those who are behaving themselves do not suffer because of the idiot few.

I love the way they wait until the sun has gone and been forecast rain over the weekend, therefore there won't a soul to be seen in the park. It means they can claim to have cracked down on crime in the park by 500%, and the whole town will think 'wow what a wonderful police force we have'
This towns police officers are a bunch of dodgy dealing thugs.
