THE chairman of a primary school which sacked a dinner lady for an alleged breach of trust has resigned.
Robert Deal, chairman of governors at Great Tey Primary School, says he has resigned for “personal reasons”.
Carol Hill, 61, was sacked by the school, based in Chrismund Way, Great Tey, after she bumped into parents Scott and Claire David at a Beavers meeting and told them how their seven-year-old daughter Chloe had been tied up in the school playground and whipped with a skipping rope by other pupils.
Mrs Hill was dismissed by the school for breaching confidentiality and an appeal against the decision was unsuccessful.
Mr Deal said of his departure: “It is for personal reasons and the pressure of work commitments.
“It has nothing to do with Carol Hill.”
