NEW play equipment worth £60,000 has ben unveiled at Rickstones playing field, in Witham.
There are new swings, a roundabout, a slide, and climbing frame, at the park which is aimed at two to 14-year-olds.
New benches and bins have also been put in, as well as new paths, fences and gates as part of the project, which was jointly funded by Braintree Council and Witham Town Council.
Wendy Schmitt, Braintree Council cabinet member for public protection and healthy living, said: “Play areas are so important to give children somewhere they can have fun and get active.
“It is equally important that their parents know it is a safe environment and this has been a high priority in the design of the refurbished play areas.
“Nearby residents are always consulted to ensure that the new equipment is in the right place and caters for the right age group.”
