EACH day in June Essex Wildlife Trust is encouraging you to join 55,000 others across the country go outside and do something wild.

The 30 Days Wild campaign aims to get people to notice nature on their doorsteps including celebrities, TV presenters and authors.

Now in its fourth year, the trust says research shows taking part improves health and happiness.

Emily McParland, communications officer at Essex Wildlife Trust, said: “We’re not spending enough time in nature and this can be really damaging to both our physical and mental wellbeing.

"June is the perfect time to reconnect with the wild outdoors - the birds are singing, the sun is shining and our landscape erupts in colour.

"No matter what wild activity you decide to do, it all counts.”

A free pack containing Random Acts of Wildness, a recipe for wild strawberry and thyme ice cream, wildflower seeded paper to sow and a wall chart with stickers to record your activities will be with you once you sign up.

There are also special packs to download for schools with outdoor lessons and business packs to bring the wild to work.

To get you started, Essex Wildlife Trust’s visitor centres have an entire month of events and activities planned.
