GRITTY TV prison drama Bad Girls gets the musical treatment later this month.

Based on the popular TV series, the show follows the lives of ladies behind bars as Shell Dockley and Co fight for freedom and try to avoid the attention of sleazy screw Jim Fenner in HMP Larkhill.

Following the success of last year’s Full Monty when the men took centre stage, Brightlingsea Musical Theatre Group’s modern musical boasts 11 female lead roles and a large chorus of inmates and officers.

The production runs from May 31 to June 3 at Brightlingsea Community Centre at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £7.50 with a three for two offer on June 1.

They are available from Spirals in Victoria Place, Brightlingsea, or can be booked on 07885 370795.

An age rating of 15+ is recommended due to the adult nature of some themes in the show.
