A MUM is seeking support for her team of fundraisers in their bid to run three marathons in 12 hours.
ThinkBDW employee Christine Wilmin, 35, has organised the Treadmill Challenge to raise cash for two year old Breya Ward, who was diagnosed with a an aggressive cancerous tumour in her stomach in January this year.
Breya’s parents, Ollie Ward, a sergeant in the 2nd battalion of the Parachute Regiment, and Holly Robinson, are hoping to raise £250,000 for pioneering treatment in America.
During Saturday’s challenge, a team of runners including Christine, will run in 20-minute slots to complete 78.6 miles on a treadmill at Tesco Highwoods between 8am and 8pm. There will also be a raffle for two tickets to see Olly Murs in concert.
Mrs Wilmin, who has already completed a Tough Mudder course and the Paras 10 trek, said: “It’s going to be a tough challenge but I do like to push myself and I’m known for doing some crazy challenges.
“Breya’s story really touched a nerve with me. I have a four year old son, Jack, and if something like this was to happen to him, I would want to raise awareness and support.”
