ARMY staff flocked to Colchester for a challenging yet fun obstacle course which kicked off the celebration of the Adjutant General Corps' 25th anniversary.

The Breakout Challenge saw 60 teams of three from regular and reserve units across the country including HR and finance administrators, police, custodial specialists, teachers and lawyers tackle 25 obstacles over a five kilometre route around the Military Corrective Training Centre in Colchester.

Lance Corporal Deven McInnis, a combat HR specialist with 27 Regiment Royal Logistics Corps said: "It was a tough course, with some obstacles testing your logic and mental skills too, and we had a lot of fun as a team getting round it together.

"I’ve really enjoyed meeting up with colleagues from elsewhere in the Army and coming together as the AGC to celebrate our anniversary.”

MPS Regt Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Gary McDade said: “This is the first of ten events planned to mark this important milestone of the AGC’s 25th anniversary.

"We wanted to start the celebrations off with a bang, and set the challenge for AGC soldiers to break out of the MCTC.

"We’ve opened up the stores to create the obstacle course, and it’s amazing what you can create applying imagination to using the resources to hand.

“It’s been about having fun in each other’s company at an event that is both challenging but open to all, and everyone has come across the finishing line with a smile on their face.”
