A DRIVER has been accused of using his car like a weapon.
Michael Hanna is accused of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to Michael Francis.
It is alleged he committed the offence on December 9 in Clacton.
The 42-year-old appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court yesterday and is expected to deny the offence.
Hanna was also charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
It is alleged he drove a Citroen Berlingo dangerously on Hawthorn Road, Clacton.
He is also expected to deny this but was not asked to formally enter pleas because the alleged offences are so serious they need to be heard in a crown court.
Hanna, of Turpins Avenue, Clacton, claims his driving was not dangerous and there was no attempt to cause harm.
He will be asked to formally enter pleas on April 18 at Chelmsford Crown Court with a trial expected to be held later in the year.
