CHEFS from the 16 Air Assault Brigade in Colchester put their skills to the test in a Christmas cake competition.
The annual competition saw chefs from the Colchester-based brigade decorating Christmas cakes as they battled it out to win first place.
Organiser Corporal Kyle Munford, a chef with 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, said: “This event gives our chefs a chance to do something a bit different and show off their wider skills.
“The standard of cakes has been really impressive with everything homemade and a lot of effort and thought put in and it’s good to have a bit of healthy competition between the chefs.”
Corporal Padam Gurung, of 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, took first prize with his Christmas tree creation.
He said: “I’m proud to win given the standard of everyone else’s cakes.”
