AQUA Springs spa has unveiled its new look having spruced up its Volcano and Steam saunas and coffee shop.

The sauna has been transformed with two-tier bench seating, energy efficient stoves, lighting, sand-timers and new glass doors.

Customers can also enjoy a refurbished café equipped with a modernised counter display, cold drinks refrigerated area and new seating area.

The improvements are part of an ongoing investment from Colchester Council to the tune of £1.5million over the next year.

These also include new water features for the pool at Leisure World and an extension to its Activa gym, additional studio space and a refreshed pool hall in Aqua Springs, which attracts 48,000 visitors every year.

Councillor Annie Feltham, portfolio holder for communities and leisure services, said: "This part of the refurbishment is great news for our customers. "The saunas are a great way to relax muscles after a workout in Activa gym or just a fantastic venue to take time out to treat yourself, family and friends.

"Aqua Springs spa is much loved and I'm delighted we've been able to invest in refurbishing the saunas, especially as Aqua Springs is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

"We wanted to create a welcoming and friendly ambiance at both venues and are thrilled with the results."
